What a truck!
Tomorrow we hand you over to your new owners. But before we part ways, there are a few
words we’d like to share with you.
From the first day we met, it was rusty, crusty love.
With your delightfully homemade roof-racks, your rakishly skewed
bumper bar and your mangled upholstery.
Oh the adventures we have shared together. The roads we have travelled. The unseen potholes we’ve plummeted into and
the stumps we’ve bumped as a team.
From your crazy time-keeping (It’s 2am??! But we’ve only
just finished our lunch! Oh, Salmon!)
and headlight shenanigans, to your aptitude for attracting many an affectionate
lean from the locals and happy toots and heartfelt waves from random strangers.
We’ve had our run-ins with the law, suffered through our
fair share of sneers from the Port Vila snobbery, and chugged-along frustratingly
behind plenty of kava-ed bus drivers.
But while the ride has sometimes been bumpy and often quite
creaky, we have stood together proud and strong and we have made it through together,
amazingly in one piece!
May the wind forever whistle through your rust holes and may
you continue to climb Khlem’s Hill like the trusty steed you will always be in
our hearts.
Awo Salmon.
Godspeed.

Best car in Vanuatu! May its rust cruise for many more years.
